MAX6 Cylinder Gauge (Lock Measurer)
Quickly and easily measure the exact size lock you need on your door!
Does the cylinder lock on your door look like this?...
If so your door lock is too big for your door and is vulnerable to lock snapping!
The MAX6MUM SECURITY Cylinder Gauge is an important tool if you want to ensure that the cylinder lock you purchase is the correct size and is protecting your home at its fullest potential. The installation of euro cylinders that are improperly measured may lead to issues such as overhanging which makes it easy for intruders to break into your home.
A small investment of a Cylinder Gauge prior to purchasing and replacing your current lock mechanism with a cylinder will help you save money and possibly help further protect your home. Don’t waste time and money on purchasing the wrong size cylinder and prevent cylinder lock snapping.
The MAX6 Cylinder Gauge assembled in seconds, and gives you an accurate reading of the euro cylinder size you need. The central part goes into the exiting cylinder screw hole, and the arms adjust to give you 2 readings for the internal and external measurements. Once you have the readings you can order the exact size euro cylinder you need! And better still, you can use the cylinder gauge over and over again on all of your doors!
How to Fit the Cylinder Gauge
To use the MAX6MUM SECURITY Cylinder Gauge, open the packaging and take out the gauge. Un-attached the pieces, and put them together as shown below. To measure the cylinder size you need, you need to:
1. Place the central point of the Gauge into the door’s screw fixing hole which is underneath the latch and directly in line with the cylinder - ‘C’
2. Slide the arms on either side of the Gauge to the ends of the door handle and read the measurements off the ruler strip for ‘A’ and ‘B’
DO NOT MEASURE TO THE END OF THE CURRENT CYLINDER AS IT MIGHT NOT BE THE CORRECT SIZE
This will give you 2 measurements for ‘A’ and ‘B’. As all MAX6MUM SECURITY cylinders are reversible, it does not matter whether ‘A’ or ‘B’ is to the outside of the door or not.
For the measurements, round up to the nearest 5mm, i.e. if measure meant ‘A’ is 34mm, round it up to 35mm.
Puts measurements ‘A’ and ‘B’ together, and this is the size cylinder you will need.
Example:
Measurement ‘A’ = 35cm
Measurement ‘B’ = 50cm
Cylinder Size Needed = 35/50 (85mm)
